Bible Study Award - Completan Estudios Biblicos

On Sunday, July 8th, three of the ladies who are studying the Bible through the Bible League's Proyecto Felipe, received an Award of Completion for finishing the first section of a three part study. Mercedes has been leading these ladies through this course of study and all three of them will be baptized come August 11th. El pasado domingo, 8 de julio, tres de las mujeres quienes están estudiando la Biblia usando el Proyecto Felipe de la Liga Bíblica, recibieron un Reconocimiento por haber completado la primera parte de tres fases. Mercedes les ha estado enseñando estos cursos y las tres se bautizaran el 11 de agosto. (En la foto de izquierda a derecha: Yolanda, Xiomara, Elda, Pastor Juan, y Mercedes.)

"La Jota" Bible Study Group - Grupo de Estudio Biblico La Jota

We are thankful to the Lord for a group of brothers/sisters and guests that have been attending a Bible Study we have been hosting in our home in the area of Zaragoza known as La Jota. Since we started in mid May, we have had steady attendance. We are thankful to the members of the Christian Community Church of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, which donated and sent several new Bibles in Spanish for the group. Thank you for your continued prayers toward this your ministry in Spain.

Le damos las gracias al Señor por el grupo de hermanos / hermanas e invitados que han asistido al Grupo de Estudio Bíblico que hemos estado hospedando en nuestro hogar en el sector de Zaragoza conocido como La Jota. Desde que comenzamos el estudio bíblico a mediados de mayo, hemos visto una buena asistencia. Le damos las gracias a los miembros de la Iglesia Comunidad Cristiana de Guaynabo, Puerto Rico quienes nos donaron y nos enviaron unas Biblias nuevas para el grupo. Agradecemos sus oraciones por este su ministerio en España.

Oscar & Fanny

Oscar & Fanny are from Central America. We met them one Sunday toward the end of Spring when they visited the Zalmedina Church. Oscar had recently accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior during his business travels in the United States. Fanny, however, was still unsure as to what Oscar had done, but she liked what God was doing with the "new" Oscar.

Oscar y Fanny son de Centroamerica. Los conocimos un domingo por la mañana cuando visitaban la Iglesia de Zalmedina a finales de la primavera. Oscar había aceptado al Señor Jesucristo como su Salvador personal durante sus viajes de negocios en los Estados Unidos. Pero Fanny todavía no estaba segura de lo que Oscar había hecho, pero le gustaba lo que Dios estaba haciendo con el "nuevo" Oscar.

They attended church a few Sundays and had come to our home several times, one evening at the end of May, Mercedes had a heart to heart talk with Fanny at our dining room table. After their conversation, Fanny admitted she needed a Savior and wanted what Oscar had, Jesus in her heart. They prayed and afterwards while angels were celebrating in Heaven, we celebrated the good news with ice cream.

Asistieron a la iglesia algunos domingos y vinieron varias veces a nuestra casa, una tarde a finales de mayo, Mercedes comenzo a hablar con Fanny sentadas a la mesa del comedor. Despues de su conversacion, Fanny admitio que ella necesitaba un Salvador y queria lo que Oscar tenia, a Jesus en su corazon. Ellas oraron y luego mientras que los angeles celebraban en el Cielo, nosotros celebramos la buena noticia con un poquito de helado.

Unfortunately for us, they had to move to another city in Spain for work related reasons. Please pray for Oscar & Fanny that the Lord will continue to lead them and strengthen their new life together in Him.

Lamentablemente para nosotros, ellos se tuvieron que mudar a otra ciudad de Espana por razones relacionados al trabajo. Por favor oren por Oscar y Fanny, que el Senor les continue guiando y fortaleciendo en su nueva vida juntos en EL.

The Girls of the Vine - Las Chicas de la Vid

John 15:5 Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."

Juan 15:5 Jesús dijo, "Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer."

In mid June, Mercedes and a few of the ladies that she is meeting with on a regular basis for Bible Study and encouragement, went to a town on the outskirts of Zaragoza for a mini retreat.

A mediados de junio, Mercedes y algunas de las mujeres con quien ella se reune para darles estudios bíblicos y animo, fueron a un pueblo en las afueras de Zaragoza para un mini retiro.
They played, they prayed, they sang, they read the Word and they ate...please pray for them and their families both here in Spain and abroad.

Ellas jugaron, oraron, cantaron, leyeron la Palabra y comieron...por favor oren por ellas y sus familias que se encuentran en España y fuera de ella.

Thanks to the generosity of people we do not know or have never met, Mercedes was able to attend the ReachGlobal Women of Western Europe conference. She was able to meet women from different parts of the globe, she even learned some Chinese words.

Gracias a la generosidad de personas los cuales no conocemos ni hemos visto, Mercedes pudo asistir a la conferencia de damas de ReachGlobal de Europa Occidental. Ella pudo conocer a damas de distintas partes del mundo, y hasta aprendio algunas palabras en chino.
