Bibles from Puerto Rico / Biblias de Puerto Rico

Upon our return to Spain from our trip to USA and Puerto Rico, a dear brother who had attended the same Campus Ministry of which Mercedes was a member of in the University, Luis and his family they bought a big box of Spanish Bibles and sent them to us along with some of the Gospel Tee Shirts he produces. We are extremely thankful for this wonderful care package because for the past five years since we began meeting as a church our “chair” Bibles have either been given away or have been taken away. Needless to say they come in a good moment…we are in the process of construction and we will have something new to put in the new meeting place.

 

A nuestro regreso a España de nuestro viaje a Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico, un querido hermano que había asistido al mismo ministerio universitario que Mercedes era un miembro de la Universidad, Luis y su familia compraron una caja grande de Biblias en Español y enviándolos a nosotros junto con algunas de las camisetas evangelisticas que produce. Estamos muy agradecidos por este maravilloso paquete porque durante los últimos cinco años desde que comenzamos a reunirnos como una iglesia nuestras Biblias "silla" han sido entregados o han sido quitados. No hace falta decirlo llegan en un buen momento... estamos en el proceso de construcción y tendremos algo nuevo para poner en el nuevo lugar de reunión.

Doña Elda

We want to thank all of you for upholding us in prayer: Whenever we have sent out our letters we include matters for continued prayer and these are met with the Lord’s answering those prayers. For example we asked for prayer for several people from the El Shaddai congregation that were on trips to their various countries of origin. For example Doña Elda, the most recent to return, had the opportunity to travel to her country and be able to witness to her family and friends about her new life in Christ. She even began to teach the Bible to her sister who has been a Mormon for over two decades and had never read the Bible and was amazed at Elda’s knowledge of the Scriptures. While Elda was away she developed blood clots and they were not sure she would be able to travel back to Spain, however, the Lord is gracious and looks out for His children and she arrived back all smiles and happy to be back at El Shaddai.

 

Queremos darles las gracias a todos ustedes por mantenernos en oración: cada vez que hemos enviado nuestras cartas que incluyen temas de oración continua Jehová responde las oraciones. Por ejemplo pedimos oración para varias personas de la congregación de El Shaddai que estaban en viajes a sus países de origen. Por ejemplo Doña Elda, el caso más reciente regreso, tuvo la oportunidad de viajar a su país y ser capaz de compartir con su familia y amigos sobre su nueva vida en Cristo. Incluso comenzó a enseñar la Biblia a su hermana que ha sido mormón por más de dos décadas y nunca había leído la Biblia y fue sorprendida con el conocimiento de Elda de las escrituras. Mientras Elda estaba fuera, desarrolló coágulos de sangre y no estaban seguros que ella sería capaz de viajar a España, sin embargo, el señor es clemente y cuida a sus hijos y al volver llegó toda sonrisas y feliz de estar de vuelta en El Shaddai.

Timothy Comes to Spain / Timothy Viene a Espana

While we were in the USA last fall, we met with Benjamin, one of the Pastors of Trinity EFC in Stanton, MI. During our time together we were talking about getting his youth group involved somehow in the ministry in Spain. He had mentioned to us that he himself would want to come over with either a team or a couple of the young people. However, Benjamin, was not able to come, but another young man who wanted to get to know what missions in Spain is like, was willing to begin talking by phone, by email and by whatever means necessary to see if this is what God would want him to do for a couple months or more.

 

Mientras que estuvimos en los EEUU el otoño pasado, nos reunimos con Benjamín, uno de los pastores de la Iglesia Evangélica Libre de Trinity en Stanton, MI. Durante nuestro tiempo juntos hablamos de como los jóvenes de su iglesia nos podrían ayudar en el ministerio en España. Él nos mencionó que él quería venir con un grupo o con dos o tres jóvenes. De todas maneras, Benjamín no pudo venir pero otro joven quien deseaba ver lo que era las misiones en España empezó a llamarnos por teléfono, por correo electrónico y por cualquier manera necesaria para ver si esto es lo que Dios quería que el hiciera por algunos meses.  

 

Timothy, contacted us and we have had an ongoing conversation ever since to the point that the Lord opened doors for him regarding his passport, finding a Spanish language course at an amazing half off price, to allowing him to meet a family in his neck of the woods from Chile of all places and several other testimonies in his own life that would make you say… “I think the Lord might be saying something to me that maybe I should go to Spain and help out and see what God is doing with El Shaddai and with Marlan and Mercedes the missionaries my church supports.” Please pray for Timothy and for his family and church family back in Michigan.

 

Timothy, nos contactó y hemos tenido una conversación constante y desde tal manera que el Señor le abrió las puertas para él en cuanto a su pasaporte, encontrando un buen precio en el curso de castellano a mitad de precio, que también conociera una familia chilena en el pueblo donde él vive y otros testimonios que le han ocurrido en su propia vida que le indicarían… “Creo que el Señor me esté diciendo algo de que debería ir a España y ayudar y ver lo que Dios está haciendo con El Shaddai y con Marlan y Mercedes los misioneros que mi iglesia apoya.” Por favor oren por Timothy y por su familia e iglesia en Michigan.

CEF Training - Entrenamiento de APEEN

At the beginning of March, Michael, Clemencia and Mercedes, attended a training for Sunday school teachers given by APEEN the local ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Spanish. It was exciting to see Michael (16) wanting to learn more to serve the Lord. We know it will be a blessing for the children’s ministry at El Shaddai. Thank you for your prayers and support and your demonstration of love through cards and gifts. This labor of love cannot be done without you.

Al principio del mes de Marzo, Michael, Clemencia y Mercedes, asistieron un entrenamiento para maestros de la Escuela Dominical dictada por los misioneros del ministerio de APEEN en España. Fue emocionante ver a Michael (16) queriendo aprender más en como servirle al Señor. Sabemos que será una bendición para el ministerio infantil de El Shaddai. Muchas gracias por sus oraciones y apoyo y sus muestras de amor por medio de tarjetas y regalos. Este labor de amor no se podría hacer sin ustedes.

Married Couples Meeting - Reunion de Matrimonios

We held our very first encounter with the married couples in El Shaddai church the third Friday in February, 2014 and we had a very good turnout with four couples showing up and participating. Actually that would be all the married couples in the church, so we can say we had a 100% assistance.

Tuvimos nuestra primera reunión de matrimonios en la iglesia El Shaddai el tercer Viernes de Febrero 2014 y tuvimos una muy buena asistencia con cuatro parejas participando. En realidad serian todas las parejas casadas en la iglesia, entonces podemos decir que tuvimos 100% de asistencia.

New Life 2014 Vida Nueva

Since our return from the Americas (as they call it here) we have been quite busy, in ministry and personally reorganizing, in meetings, visiting and caring for the flock. We do not have much free time. Add to the mix a couple of new discipleship Bible Studies at the beginning of 2014, praise the Lord for that.

Desde nuestro regreso de las Américas (así es como es conocido aquí) hemos estado muy ocupados en el ministerio, en reuniones, visitaciones y cuidando de la grey. No hemos tenido mucho tiempo libre. Añadido a esto comenzamos dos estudios bíblicos de discipulado al principio del 2014, alabado sea el Señor por esto.

Leo, a young man who has been visiting El Shaddai since June 2013 gave his life to the Lord at the turn of the year. His mother, Clemencia, followed suit once she understood what it was to give her life to Jesus nearly two weeks later.

Leo, un joven quien ha estado visitando a El Shaddai desde Junio 2013 entrego su vida al Señor al comienzo del nuevo año. Su madre, Clemencia, le siguió ya cuando entendió lo que significaba entregar su vida a Jesús unas dos semanas mas tarde.
